Passed!

I got my results today (UMO being actually quite fast!) and I.... passed! Actually picked up a distinction as well, but that is just a happy by product - well off to Malaysia on Friday, I can relax for a good 3 weeks and work on some much missed Badminton!

End of Exams

All done! The final exam (PPP) was a beast, but I think I may have done enough to pass it. 80% of the year (350+ lectures) somehow condensed into 140 Qs; it doesn't sound logical does it. I was very glad that they didn't ask one question of Psychology however (despite it being 12 lectures!). Anatomy was good I felt so hopefully that's a pass as well. The CMS exam was rather controversial, as 1\ It included some rather dubious questions. eg. What is an aromatic amino acid? And two choices of Tyrosine and Tryptophan were given. and 2\ after our CMS revision talk, we were told to revise certain subjects and to overlook some other ones, and when we sat down to take the paper, loads of stuff that we were told to overlook came up. :S I mean, what is protein 14-3-3!? After the exam, the UMO kindly gave us some food and let us vent about the course to them. From what it sounds like they're really gonna pass us, perhaps by setting a lower pass mark or ignoring some of the Q's... here's hoping.

Anyway results (or notification of pass/fail) is in a week's time, and until then I can relax. There is a BBQ tonight set up by the Grad med society which sounds like a good time. I won't be eating there as I think I owe the Kwan a night out for the month of me revising! Going to Thorpe Park tomorrow for someone's birthday, and then to watch Oliver! on Monday, out for my housemate's birthday on Tuesday and hopefully some badminton Wednesday/Thursday! Then off to Malaysia by which time I'll hopefully know if I'm into year 2!

Paper 1

Man it's hot today. Had my first paper today, CMS. Was alright, was more tough than I thought it'd be but I think I did alright. Keep trying to think what questions I was dubious on but it's eating me up and there are too many Q's to remember. Really wish they gave you to results in a day or something rather than a week or 2 it akes for them to put it in a computer...

Anatomy Wednesday!

Crunch Time

My favourite time time of revision period is now upon me, the weekend before the exams! I feel alright about my exams though I feel after the hectic 2 weeks trying to revise everything, I've kinda slowed down in my revision in the final week, just losing all motivation to go over everything again. But it's one more cram of CMS this weekend, before I cram Anatomy between Monday and Wednesday, then 1 single day on Wednesday to somehow revise all off PPP. One good thing is that the UMO (Undergraduate Medical Office) is holding a free buffet lunch after our final exam on Thursday as a draw to keep us there to give feedback! Stock up before I run off to badminton!

Wimbledon is here and I've been watching on the BBC website almost religiously (probably the reason of my slow work output). My predictions for the Men's is a Federer vs Murray final, with Federer coming out on top. Murray's been playing well, he has been using his mean sliced backhand a lot but Fed-Ex is too experienced for him in my eyes and will probably make short work of him. In the women's, I think a good bet is one of the William's sisters, Venus is always a good bet at Wimbledon. Gah and the 2nd week coincides with my exams!

Oh and Transformers 2 - wow, who doesn't love a bit of Optimus Prime and his red hot sword hands!
